Three Basic Settings
There are three important Attendance Settings that help streamline the check-in and check-out process. Let’s go through each one:
Kiosk Mode: Kiosk Mode in MyKidReports allows parents and staff to check in or out using a QR code or unique 6-digit PIN, streamlining attendance management while ensuring security and accuracy.
Printable QR Codes: Administrators can generate and print QR codes for parents to use. This option offers flexibility, allowing families to check in from printed materials without depending on a single device.
Allow Staff to Check-in Students: Staff members can check students in or out directly from the student listing screen. This gives administrators and teachers better control and ensures smooth attendance management.
1. The KIOSK Mode
Step 5: Now, click the toggle
| Step 6: Now, the KIOSK mode options will be seen.
|
In the Kiosk Mode, several additional options become available to further customize and secure the check-in/check-out process. Let’s go through them one by one:
6. (i). Check-in Questions:
Administrators can set up custom questions for parents during check-in. This helps collect important information such as health updates or daily notes.
Step 6. (i). (a): Click the toggle
| Step 6. (i). (b): Click on the Edit Questions.
|
Step 6. (i). (c): You will see a screen displaying the check-in questions. If you are satisfied, click the Save button. If you wish to add more questions, click the + Add Another Statement button.
| Step 6. (i). (d): You will get two options Free flow text and Yes/No answer only. Now, click the first one, Free Flow Text.
|
Step 6. (i). (e): If you select the Free Flow Text option, parents can type their answers in their own words, then click the Save button.
| Step 6. (i). (f): If you select the Yes/No Answer Only option, parents will be able to respond to the question with either Yes or No only. Click the Save button.

6.(ii). Guardian and Staff Check-in/Check-out Signature
Requires parents/guardians to provide a digital signature while checking in or out, ensuring accountability and accurate record-keeping.
There are four signature options available—None, Check-in, Check-out, and Both. Let’s explore each one in detail.
None: No signature will be required during check-in or check-out.
Check-in: A signature will be required at the time of check-in.
Check-out: A signature will be required at the time of check-out.
Both: Signatures will be required at both check-in and check-out.
For example, if you select both options, then Signatures will be required at both check-in and check-out times.
6.(iii). Generate QR code
The generate QR code option allows administrators to set how often the QR code should be automatically regenerated for security purposes. You can choose intervals as given in the drop-down.
6.(iv). Geo-fencing
The Geo-fencing option in MyKidReports ensures that check-in/check-out can only be done within a defined distance from the center.
👉 For example, if the radius is set to 50 meters, parents and staff can only check-in when they are within 50 meters of the preschool location.
2. Printable QR Code option
Step 5: Now, click the toggle button to view Printable QR codes options
| Step 6: Now, the Printable QR Code options will be seen.
|
In the Printable QR Code option, several additional settings become available to enhance and secure the check-in/check-out process. However, features such as Check-in Questions, Guardian and Staff Check-in/Check-out Signatures, and Geo-fencing function in the same way as they do in Kiosk Mode.
Important: The key difference between Kiosk Mode and Printable QR Codes lies in the Regenerate QR Code option. In Kiosk Mode, QR codes can be set to regenerate automatically at a defined frequency (e.g., every hour, day, or week) to enhance security. In contrast, Printable QR Codes remain static and cannot be regenerated on a scheduled basis.
3. Allow staff to check-in students option.
Step 5: Scroll down, go to the Staff member check-in/out students section.
There are four Staff member check-in/out notification options available—None, Check-in, Check-out, and Both. Let’s explore each one in detail.

Set the Time Zone
In MyKidReports, setting the Time Zone means selecting the correct local time zone for your school. This ensures that all activities, check-ins, check-outs, and reports are recorded and displayed according to your school’s local time, avoiding any confusion in daily operations.
👉 For example, if your school is in New York, you would set the time zone to (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) so that attendance and reports align with your actual local time.
