In MyKidReports, "Processing Payments" refers to payments that have been initiated by the payer but have not yet been fully cleared and deposited into the school's bank account. These payments are still going through the necessary processing stages, which may include verifying payment information, authorization by the payment processor, and other bank clearing procedures.
During the processing phase, the payment is neither marked as failed nor completed. It is in transit, meaning the funds are being transferred but haven’t been finalized.
Why Understanding Processing Payments is Important:
Accurate Record-Keeping: Knowing which payments are in process helps schools distinguish between funds that are on the way versus those that have been fully received.
Follow-up: If payments stay in the processing state for too long, it might indicate a problem that needs to be addressed with the payer or payment provider.
Cash Flow Management: Processing payments can affect short-term cash flow, especially when waiting for large amounts to clear.
