Yes, in MyKidReports, you can pass on processing fees for credit card or ACH transactions to parents.
How to Pass Fees to Parents
1. Pass Credit Card Service Fees to Parents:
You have the option to toggle on the "Pass Credit Card service fees to parents" switch.
When enabled, the platform will automatically include the credit card processing fee (in this example, 3.00 CAD) in the parent's online transaction.
2. Pass ACH Service Fees to Parents:
Similarly, the "Pass ACH service fees to parents" toggle allows schools to pass the ACH (direct debit) processing fees to parents.
In this case, the fee is 0.30 CAD per transaction, which will be added to the parent's payment if ACH is selected.
Key Features:
Editable Fees: Both the Credit Card Fee and ACH Fee can be customized using the "Edit" option.
Automatic Addition: Once enabled, these fees will automatically be added to any online transaction by parents when paying via credit card or ACH.
Transparency: Parents will see these fees included in their payment, making the process transparent.
State Restrictions: Note that some state regulations may apply, which could affect whether or not you can pass these fees to parents.
Processing Fees
These settings allow you to pass payment processing fees for the card and direct bank transfer payments along to the person making a payment. If enabled, your organization will not be charged payment processing fees. Instead, payers will pay these fees when they go to make an online payment, and they will see how much the fee is.
Some state restrictions may apply to vendors' ability to charge their customers for these fees. It is your responsibility to determine if your organization can pass along such fees to the payer. We recommend that you review any applicable regulations that may apply before turning on these settings.
Processing Fees Settings on the Web
Step 1: Log in to your account.
Step 2: Go to the 'Billing' tab and click on the 'Setting'.
Step 3: Go to 'Payment Settings' and click on the 'Payment options'.
Step 4: In the 'Processing Fees' tile, manage the 'Pass Credit Card service fees to parents' and 'Pass ACH service fees to parents' settings to toggle ON/OFF as needed and click on the 'Save' button.
